The Steps, Fall/Winter 18

The beginning.

The puzzle.

With 2 online shops and looking towards starting small batch production (while still doing made to order),

there are a lot of decisions.  Categories, editing, planning.

Fabric shopping/sourcing.

Here’s me in LA spending hours looking at all the pretty fabrics.

I love the cotton jersey knits always, but found some denim, linen, french terry, and bamboo jersey to add to the collection.

There is some in person fabric shopping, and I also order online from suppliers I’ve been buying from for years.

I make all my own patterns,

I went to school for this and I love it.

There is so much uncertainty, possibilities, and challenges.

Some pieces come easy.  Some take a lot of work, lots of muslins and fabric samples.

Some just don’t work and that’s good to figure out and move on.

“The only way to it, is through it.”

Trying on samples, fit model and sample tester (me).

Coffee table desk, edits and revisions.

The final pieces ready for the photo shoot.
